LIKE REALLY CREATIVE EVENT SERIES
SEPTEMBER 2025 - NOVEMBER 2025This 3-part event series—in partnership with Memphis Public Library and funded by a grant from the Memphis Library Foundation—was designed to inspire participants to fill their creative wells and generate new ideas through curated art books, novels, poetry, high-fashion shows, and experimental films.
Additionally, a mixed-media collage workshop, a singer-songwriter live songwriting experience, a DJ set, a zine workshop, and two fine art artist demonstrations filled the Orange Mound Library.

A GENEALOGY OF COMMUNITY
Discover your roots while immersing yourself in creativity at the Like Really Creative Inspiration Salon: A Genealogy of Community, where you can trace your family history, record your cultural heritage story, flip through tons of art books, and vibe to a live DJ all under one roof. Wander between fashion runway shows on screen, experimental films, and an artist Q&A table where curious minds can engage directly with creators bringing their visions to life. Don't miss this one-of-a-kind cultural celebration at the Orange Mound Library and Genealogy Center, where art, music, fashion, and family history merge to create an unforgettable community experience.

Step into the unknown at the Like Really Creative Inspiration Salon: Experiments, where experimentation and inspiration meet in the most unexpected ways. Participate in an unconventional art workshop that challenges traditional art boundaries by artist Patience Andrews. Watch musician and vocalist Victoria Dowdy compose an original song in real-time from scratch. Meet with and make with your neighbors at the Like Really Creative Inspiration Salon: Zip Code Zine Mixer. Join artist and musician Joi Purvy in a zine making workshop that ties in personal narratives that capture your neighborhood's spirit. Experience the mesmerizing process of mixed-media art creation as artist Alana Reece-Walker works on a piece layer by layer as you ask questions about the process.
